Last Light Over Firenze

For our 20th wedding anniversary, Jeff and I returned to Italy to soak in the charm, the warmth, the wine, and some friendships.  We have been blessed with two Italian families as our friends, one in the north at Lake Como, and the other in the south at Florence and Ravello.  This evening we visited Francesca, the daughter of our long time friend Bonaventura Fraolo.  Jeff met Boni decades ago while doing a Straw Hat Pizza commercial.  Boni was the property manager and engaged the whole town of Atrani, and Francesca and her brother, age 5 and 6, led the pizza parade.  By the way, Jeff won a Clio Award for his commercial!

We were guests of Francesca, her husband and two darling daughters for dinner al fresca at their villa overlooking Florence.  Just beyond this wall, all of Florence, the Duomo and sites were bathed in golden light.  We got there just as the sun was setting, and these pots called loudly to the artist in me!
